“Wherever we go, all of us who are part of the Ahimsa community will take a little bit of Ahimsa forward into the future with us…”

They were all Magic Moments at Ahimsa: it was so very good to become a student there again, inspired by great teachers, in an intense and dedicated learning community. I love the "Invocation for Togetherness" we all voiced together at the start of teacher training classes. Indeed, it gives voice to what Ahimsa is all about. I adapted this beautiful chant as a wish/hope/blessing to start my online Shakespeare class during the pandemic years, to bring together a learning community across distances in this complicated time:

May we be protected together,
May we be nourished together,
May we work together with great energy,
May our studies be effective and enlightening,
May no animosity arise between us
(even in the face of differences of opinion).

Wherever we go, all of us who are part of the Ahimsa community will take a little bit of Ahimsa forward into the future with us in our "thoughts, words, and actions." "May the thoughts, words, and actions of our own lives contribute in some way to that happiness and to that freedom [we wish] for all."
