Teacher Training - EVOLVED!
Ahimsa Yoga’s Celebrated Teacher Training is Evolving!
For the last 12 years, the Ahimsa Yoga Teacher Training program ("Yogayama") has earned a reputation as one of the finest Yoga Teacher Trainings available. We are ALWAYS looking for ways to evolve our program, and we believe that is why Yogayama has been so successful and effective in the past. This process of evolving sometimes means a refinement of our course content (to ensure we're giving the most useful and practical information our focus) -- but sometimes it's a matter of refining HOW we teach. Over the last few years, many of us have seen some of the biggest changes and challenges in our lifetimes. As such, for our teacher training offerings to continue to be as helpful, accessible and effective as possible, they need to change too!
It's Time to Address Some Elephants...
As much as I LOVE Yoga Teacher Trainings (you know I do!) there have always been things I didn’t “love” about it. These “elephants in the room” are new to no one, but have somehow been able to just sneak past unaddressed for a long time:
"What about people who want to explore further study into yoga, but have no interest in teaching?"
"Sure, people usually find a lot of value in all the other areas of study they weren’t initially interested in, but shouldn’t they also have the freedom to just take a yoga philosophy course if they want to? (Or anatomy? Or posture refinement and comprehension? Or...?)"
"Where are the continuing education opportunities after graduating a 200hr YTT? Is the ONLY option being offered 'the next, BIGGER and MORE EXPENSIVE' option?"
Traditional Teacher Trainings are a HUGE commitment, and it can be hard to find the one that's the perfect fit for you. With so many moving parts (cost, faculty, time commitment -- aah!) it can feel impossible to find the Cinderella slipper that fits perfectly into your budget and schedule.
Ahimsa's Answer to The Elephants!
Imagine a University that hosts classes about the many aspects of yoga. Each "course" has a different subject, and the culmination of the courses leads to a "degree" in Yoga Teaching. Some folks take one course, some take several, some take them all (and become teachers!). Some folks finish their "degree" in one year, some in two, some in three, some not at all.
See where I'm going with this?! 😁
Our Evolved Yogayama Teacher Training will offer a-la-carte yoga education courses (including philosophy, anatomy, asana study, teaching methodology, and more!) that you can pick and choose based on your interests, teaching desires, schedule availability or gaps in your existing education.
SOME HIGHLIGHTS:
Most courses will be offered twice a year (you can still take that vacation to Peru!)
Courses will be a combination of online and in-studio offerings
Courses will vary in length and cost, depending on the topic being covered
Classes begin JANUARY 2023
We are in the process of refining our course syllabus, and will share more details (including scheduling and sign-up info!) as soon as we have it. In the meantime, check out our weekly, Friday night DROP-IN YOGA TEACHER TRAINING CLASSES to experience a taste of what the evolved Yogayama Teacher Training will be like, and what it's like to study with me!
I absolutely can't wait to share these offerings with you.
Peace,
JP
